Mandy Harris
Mandy Harris is the Chief of Staff of Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Kansas (BCBSKS), the state’s largest and only locally owned health plan. As a mutually owned, not-for-profit health plan, BCBSKS serves nearly one million members with the state’s largest provider network and award-winning customer service.
Harris oversees the organization’s strategic planning and execution functions, including teams that help develop, monitor, and support the organization’s ability to effectively achieve its business goals and objectives. As the organization continues to evolve and grow, the need for proactive planning, timely and relevant communications, operational efficiency, and agile execution is critically important. She enjoys facing challenges head on because she gets to work with the greatest workforce in Kansas—when we deliver real solutions our members, employees, providers and communities thrive.
She began her career with BCBSKS as a New Venture Initiative intern. After completing her MBA and internship, Harris accepted a full-time position at BCBSKS as a Risk and Strategy Specialist, jointly leading the company’s Enterprise Risk Management Program and developing a robust framework for evaluating strategic initiatives. In 2021, Mandy was promoted to Director, Enterprise Strategy Development and Analytics where she partnered with executive and senior leadership to develop the organization’s strategic planning processes and programs. She was promoted to Chief of Staff in 2024.
Harris attended the University of Idaho, where she graduated with a Bachelor of Science in accounting. She later attended the University of Kansas, where she graduated with a master’s degree in business administration, concentrated in finance. Harris resides in Lawrence, Kansas with her husband, cat and dog. In their spare time, they enjoy travelling and adventuring through National Parks.
