Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Kansas highlights changes and additions to Medicare Advantage plans
Topeka, Kansas (Oct. 16, 2023) – Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Kansas (BCBSKS) announced the year’s annual Medicare Advantages plans offering high quality health care to Kansans. The annual enrollment period starts on Oct. 15th and continues through Dec. 7th. Medicare Advantage plans purchased during AEP are effective Jan. 1st, 2024.
Medicare Advantage is an alternative to Original Medicare. These bundled Medicare Advantage plans include Part A (hospital insurance), Part B (medical insurance), and usually Part D (drug coverage). The plan may include extra benefits like dental, visions, hearing, and allowances towards over-the-counter retail items.
BCBSKS offers four different plans with varying ranges of benefits. Most plans offer a $0 monthly premium, $0 primary care copays with maximum out of pocket expenses, ranging from $3,500 to $5,400. All plans also come with wellness allowances meaning Kansans will get money to use on over-the-counter medications, dental, and eyewear needs.
